What is the Dallas High Shoals Ministry?

In an effort to enhance the quality of life for all the citizens in the North Gaston area and in response to a number of urgent needs, The Dallas Ministerial Association (DMA), initialted a local food pantry which soon became known as The Dallas / High Shoals Christian Social Ministry.  For more than 33 years, DHSCSM has served faithfully in the North Gaston Community and continues to receive generous and wide spread support from both the area churches and the local community.

Our Mission

The mission of the Dallas High Shoals Christian Social Ministry is the serve as a cooperative ministry of the area churches in bearing witness to the Love of God made visible in Jesus Christ through acts of compassion and mercy by providing crisis assistance, humanitarian aid and developmental (self improvement) opportunities to persons and families in the North Gaston area.

A Cooperative Effort

This food ministry is governed by a Board of Directors composed of the pastor and a lay respresentative from each of the participating churches.  The Board meets quarterly to review, support, direct, develop policies and provide general guidance for this food ministry. 

On Aug. 13, 2004 the Dallas High Shoals Christian Social Ministry moved to a new location at:

Tues. & Fri. 9am-12pm
Wed. & Thurs. 1pm-4pm

Volunteers from Dallas Baptist Church oand other supporting churches also provide additional help.
