My Favorite character in the Bible:
Jesus… Not only because He’s my Savior, but He is the perfect example of how we, as children of God should act, live, and treat others.
My Life verse is:
I can do all things, through Christ Jesus who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13
I also like:
I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. Habakkuk 3:18
If I could ask God one question, it would be:
Why? (or maybe… Was I worth it? (‘it’ being, the sacrifice of His only Son).
Nobody knows that I:
If I told… then everyone would know.
I’m happiest when:
When, no matter what activity I might be involved in, that I am in God’s Will for that moment, and that time in my life.
On my Sony mp4 player:
Nothing but Praise and Worship music and video files right now. But I plan on loading some of my favorite Berry Park (Alan Berry & Rick Parkhurst) originals; as well as some classic ‘Rock-n-Roll from the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
The one book (besides the Bible) I’d recommend to anyone is:
Actually there are three…the Celebration Hymnal, an empty Photo album (to be filled), and a new Journal (to be filled).
My last meal would be:
Grandma Peggy’s Chocolate Bread Pudding with coffee (appetizer), Brenda’s Deep-Fried Chicken (or Pork Chops) with Mashed-Potatoes and Gravy, Jeff’s Fried Green-Beans, a side of Pickled Beets, and Beth’s Homemade Yeast Rolls. For Desert… Mamaw’s Coconut Cake with coffee.( Gloria Day and Kitty Brown’s recipes are as close to Mamaw’s cake that I’ve tasted to date. If you blind-folded me, I’m not sure that I could tell these ladies cakes apart, but they are absolutely wonderful… and beyond “Tasty.”
I’m most excited about:
The new ‘adventure’ that lies ahead with each new day.
The team I root for most is:
Today’s Youth (if, I can consider them a ‘team’)… otherwise, the Green Bay Packers (Go…. Pack!)
My proudest moment is:
The birth of my children (Nikki and David); then again, their rebirth into the family of God, when they accepted Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior.
If I could, I’d:
Make sure no child ever went to bed hungry again…EVER!
I could eat:
My last meal once a week, for the rest of my life, and never get tired of it.
My pet peeve is:
The ONE that causes me to ‘See Red’ the quickest is probably: Children being disrespectful to their parents [and or guardians] in public… I’ve actually been known to verbally correct the child, and then apologize to the adult; just in case I’ve overstepped my bounds.
My perfect moment is:
I don’t know if I have a concept of “What my ‘perfect’ moment may be. And to pick any one of the ‘Great (or memorable)’ moments in my life thus far as a perfect moment, might imply that it [life] isn’t going to (or can’t) get any better… And I believe it can. ‘Every day’s a new adventure.’
My favorite childhood memory is:
There are many. But those early adolescent years, when life and ‘the times’ were more innocent and care-free, hold my fondest memories. Afternoons, and days, spent playing in and around Mamaw and Papaw’s barn and farm-yard; me and Steve jumping and doing flips from the hay-loft onto piles of hay and sawdust.
In my free time, I:
If Melody is also free, then we try to spend some time together; but, I also like to have some ‘free-time’ with my good-friend [and singing/songwriting partner] Alan. I also like to play the guitar, read, take pictures [photographs], and creatively write (songs, poems, etc.).
If I could do it over again, I’d:
I’ve always told people that, “I wouldn’t change a thing; because, to change one thing might alter the person I am, and am to become.” Right now, I’m pretty happy with who I am; and, with doing what God has given me to do at this stage in my life. Oh, I’m not perfect, not even close. But as I live, and strive to apply the biblical truths and lessons of ‘love and forgiveness’ taught by Jesus, my life becomes richer.
My favorite TV show is:
Over the last 3-years, I have become a big American Idol fan, but I don’t vote. I also like the CSI shows, with CSI-NY being my favorite. However, if there is one that has lasted the test of time, it would be the Andy Griffin Show; or maybe Bonanza with Gun Smoke running a close second.
Three people I would want to have a meal with:
Jesus, Mark Twain [Samuel Clemens], and Mamaw Knox; counting me, that’s one to serve, one to keep it light, one to keep things moving, and one to make sure no one gets out of hand. I’m not sure who would be doing what, when; but I do know that the best of life is represented: Sacrificial love, Comedy of living, Respect and discipline
I would spend $1000:
I owe, I owe, so paying bills it’d go. |
