Mission: What are we doing?
We want to help our members become “good trees” that “bear good fruit” [Matthew 12:33]
Vision: What is the Ultimate Purpose?
We want to see our church cultivate an “orchard” of healthy Christians that multiply other healthy Christians through evangelism and discipleship. [2 Timothy 2:2]
Core Competencies: How do we measure This?
-
Growth: Each person should exhibit growth in the knowledge, wisdom, and truth of God. [Proverbs 1:7; Psalm 25:5]
-
Fruit: Each person should bear the fruit of a new and changed heart— the Fruits of the Spirit. [Galatians 5:22-23; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Ezekiel 36:26-27]
-
Pruning: Each person should see a progressive decrease in sinful habits and desires, through growth or discipline. [Romans 6:1-14; 1 John 2:1-6]
-
Sowing: Each person should seek to engage others with this process through discipleship/evangelism. [Matthew 28:18-20; Hebrews 10:19-24]

Check-ins:
Each member of the group should be checking in with the other members of the group. The length and setting of a check-in is at the discretion of each GG. Check-ins should happen, at minimum, over a phone call or quick conversation at church. Check-ins could also be lunch gatherings, group bible studies, or something similar. Information on the frequency of these check-ins is covered in the handbook.
How to do a Check-in
These questions and updates should be the baseline of every check-in. Each member should ask and answer these questions with one another:
Quiet Time: How is your Bible reading? Daily devotion time? Daily worship?
Highs and Lows: Anything we should pray for in your life lately? Anything we should praise God for in your life lately?
Evangelism: Who is one person we can be praying for to come to know Jesus? Who have you shared the Gospel with recently?
Prayer: Prayer should happen at every check-in.
